Joan Dignam Schmaltz Gallery of Art at the Paul J. Schupf Art Center, 93 Main Street, Waterville
Each year, the Colby Museum presents an exhibition dedicated to Colby College students who have spent four years working toward capstone projects in studio art. These artists have focused on disciplines including painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and, for the first time this year, digital media. On view from the end of the spring semester until Commencement, this show celebrates the culmination of the graduating seniors’ artistic practices at Colby. An exhibition catalogue containing images, artists’ statements, and essays on works in the show written by students in AR356 Contemporary Art Criticism will accompany the installation.
This year’s exhibiting artists are Emily Alford, Michelle Bechtel, Drew Bennett, Jana Berry, Jamie Fiedorek, Isabel Grimes, Yeon Hong, Zoey LaTour, Ellie Mackle, Fiona Mejico, Aaron Rivera, Eric Seaman, Keon Smart, Hannah Soria, Anna Staton, Grace Yang, and Jenifer Zanabriga.
Join us for the opening celebration from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 at the Hub, Paul J. Schupf Art Center.
